Amalgam Silver-mercury fillings

The Scientific Facts:

German Swedish and American autopsy investigations found that human brain and kidney tissues from individuals who had mercury fillings contained significantly higher mercury levels than tissue samples from individuals who had no mercury fillings! Further more, the concentration of brain mercury in the subject with dental mercury fillings correlated with the number of mercury fillings present.

Mercury coming from dental fillings can be found in all tissues, after only 30 days of chewing. It is now scientifically established that your dental mercury fillings constitute your largest single source of inorganic mercury exposure, larger than all other environmental sources combined including air, water and food. The average daily absorbed doses from fillings is approximately 12 micrograms.

Body Tissues At Greatest Risk

1. The Kidney
Mercury accumulates in all adult tissues, being highest in the
    kidney and liver

Bonding material can also be used in back teeth. Nearly invisible filling result when old silver amalgams are replaced using this technique.

2. Brain & Nerve Tissue

    a. Mercury level is highest in the pituitary gland
    b. Higher mercury concentrations in Alzheimer's brains
    c. The mercury was particularly high in brain areas associated with memory
    d. Research groups have isolated the biochemical pathway that when blocked by mercury results in the brain
nerve tangles characteristic of Alzheimer's pathology-
    e. Mercury poisoning may also mimic Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson's Disease.

3. The Unborn & Newborn
    a. Dental mercury will also cross the placenta and accumulate in the developing unborn baby within two days
after the fillings are placed in the mother's teeth. Mother's milk has also been shown to contain mercury from
the fillings suggesting that the new-born would have an additional exposure.

4. The Stomach and Intestines
    a. Normal bacteria in the intestines are killed or altered by exposure to mercury from the "silver" fillings.

Clinical Relevance In general

1. Mercury is an extremely dangerous poison.
2. There is no safe level of mercury exposure for humans.
3. Dental "silver" fillings contain 50% pure elemental mercury.

In specific

1. Mercury is released continuously from mercury fillings, because these fillings are chemically unstable.

2. In humans, mercury fillings produce a pharmacologically significant daily dose of poisonous mercury .

3. Mercury fillings are the largest source of toxic mercury exposure in the general population.

4. Toxic mercury released from mercury fillings collects in all adult human tissues, being highest in the kidney, liver in then the brain.

5. Dental mercury crosses the placenta and collects in the developing unborn baby and exposes the new born via mother's milk.

6. Mercury from dental fillings reduces kidney function

7. Mercury from dental fillings alters the normal bacterial populations in the intestinal tract, producing antibiotic resistance.

8. Mercury from dental fillings has been implicated in nervous system disorders such as Alzheimer's Disease.
